Adani re­veals world’s largest so­lar power plant in Tamil Nadu

Sources at Adani Green En­ergy, part of the Adani Group, said it has ded­i­cated to the na­tion the world’s largest 648MW so­lar power plant at Ka­muthi, Ra­manatha­pu­ram, in Tamil Nadu, en­tail­ing an in­vest­ment of ` 45.5 bil­lion.

It is part of the state gov­ern­ment’s am­bi­tious tar­get of gen­er­at­ing 3GW of re­new­able en­ergy as per the so­lar en­ergy pol­icy un­veiled by the gov­ern­ment in 2012.

The en­tire 648MW plant is now con­nected with Ka­muthi’s 400kV sub-sta­tion, mak­ing it the world’s largest so­lar unit at a sin­gle lo­ca­tion.
