PERFECT ESCAPE

Evo India - - EXPERIENCE - WORDS by AFZAL RAWUTHER PHOTOGRAPHY by MAHINDRA

IT’S SOMETIME DURING there for what was to be an incredibly undulating 20km long off-road trail drive through the picturesque hills of the Kadamane Tea Estate, 270km from Bangalore. The drive took us more than 8 hours and I didn’t regret a single moment of it. The terrain was often treacherous and for me – a novice at off-roading, every turn presented a challenge. There were points where even the most experienced off-roaders found the going tough, and we subsequently crawled to a halt. It was slow going but all the more exciting for it. I had my heart in my mouth at some parts of the drive but the marshals from the IMSC (Indian Motor Sports Club) had my back. Everyone chipped in and helped each other get through the tricky parts of the trail. Sometimes pushing, sometimes giving out much needed bits of encouragement till everyone was through the course.
