TN investment roadshows showcase Global Investors' Meet
The Government of Tamil Nadu is organising Tamil Nadu – Global Investors' Meet (GIM) on September 9-10, 2015 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai. The objectives of the GIM are to build brand equity of Tamil Nadu globally; showcase the potential of the state as leading and preferred investment destination worldwide; provide a platform for networking on investment and growth opportunities and showcase the strengths of Tamil Nadu.
As a prelude to the GIM, FICCI jointly with the Government of Tamil Nadu organised a series of investment roadshows in April 2015 in Bangalore (April 8), Hyderabad (April 9), New Delhi (April 10), Ahmedabad (April 17), Pune (April 21), Mumbai (April 22) and Kolkata (April 23).
These roadshows were aimed to highlight the huge investment opportunities available in Tamil Nadu in identified sectors such as textiles, biotech/pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, skill development, food & agri business, aerospace, chemicals & petrochemicals, IT & ITeS, automobile & auto ancillaries, renewable energy, heavy engineering and electronics hardware and also to invite the participants for the GIM.
Thangamani , Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries mentioned the strengths of Tamil Nadu as an industrial and business powerhouse. He emphasised that skilled manpower, good return on investment, modern infrastructure, proactive and consistent policy makes it an attractive investment destination.
Each roadshow was addressed by four to five industry leaders who have their investments and business interests in Tamil Nadu. They spoke about their positive experience of investing in the state. A detailed presentation on 'Investment Opportunities in Tamil Nadu' was also made by senior state government officials in each of the roadshow.
