Seminar to motivate students to join civil services
FICCI in association with Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) organised 'SPIPA Ignite' in Ahmedabad on August 20, 2015. The event was attended by more than 160 students from law, research and management institutes and government officers.
It was a unique initiative session aimed at educating students about UPSC services, and motivating them to look at civil services as an exciting career option. It was the first seminar amongst several others which will be held across various cities of Gujarat, including Baroda, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhuj. The program was telecasted live in all district panchayats of the state through E-Gram.
The seminar was hosted by celebrity host Dhwanit, and a skit performance by Naishad Purani and group at the beginning of the session ensured students' undivided attention. The speakers included Sudhir Mankad IAS (Retd); Varesh Sinha IAS (Retd); Vipul Mittra, DG –SPIPA; Rajiv Vastupal, Chairman FICCI-GSC; Tushar Sumera, Assistant Collector - Morbi and Amitabh Shah, CEO, Yuva Unstoppable.
The experiences shared by both young and experienced IAS officers provided an insight into the life of an IAS officer, and students were motivated to look at civil services as an enriching career choice, and an opportunity to work towards betterment of the society.
