'Mr Fix-It': Carlos Ghosn
Renault SA's Carlos Ghosn is likely to step down as chief executive of the French carmaker before the end of his term in 2022. He would remain the chairman of Renault and continue as chief executive and chairman of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance responsible for driving the three groups closer towards being a single global entity. Ghosn, 'Mr Fix-It', is known for reviving the fortunes of deeply troubled companies – Renault in France and Nissan in Japan.
Born in Porto Velho, Brazil, on 9 March 1954, he earned two engineering degrees in Paris. His started his career as a management trainee with the French tyremaker Michelin and was promoted rapidly through the Michelin organization. Since then he has been achieving new milestones and never looked back.
