'Mr Fix-It': Car­los Ghosn

Re­nault SA's Car­los Ghosn is likely to step down as chief ex­ec­u­tive of the French car­maker be­fore the end of his term in 2022. He would re­main the chair­man of Re­nault and con­tinue as chief ex­ec­u­tive and chair­man of the Re­nault-Nis­san-Mit­subishi al­liance re­spon­si­ble for driv­ing the three groups closer to­wards be­ing a sin­gle global en­tity. Ghosn, 'Mr Fix-It', is known for re­viv­ing the for­tunes of deeply trou­bled com­pa­nies – Re­nault in France and Nis­san in Ja­pan.

Born in Porto Velho, Brazil, on 9 March 1954, he earned two en­gi­neer­ing de­grees in Paris. His started his ca­reer as a man­age­ment trainee with the French tyre­maker Miche­lin and was pro­moted rapidly through the Miche­lin or­ga­ni­za­tion. Since then he has been achiev­ing new mile­stones and never looked back.
