The Eco Code: World Environment Day Conclave 2018

The keynote address was delivered by Justice P Jyothimani and the special address by FICCI Chairman. The first panel discussion was on 'Worldwide reliance on disposable plastic packaging is overwhelming our planet'. By 2050, the oceans will contain more plastic than fish by weight.
The event also hosted the Guinness World Record Ceremony for 'Largest Human Recycle Logo' formation by 1726 students of BS Abdur Rahman Crescent University, an initiative of
The New Indian Express supported by Nippon Paint India Private Ltd. The Recycle Drive, an initiative by
The New Indian Express, with the start-up company 'PLANTCIL', was also launched. The drive is to create awareness about the environment among the school kids. Also, there was a launch of seed paper and seed invite made of recycled paper. The second panel discussion on the topic was 'Plastic Pollution: Solutions, Alternatives & Innovation'. The final keynote address was delivered by B Chandra Mohan, Secretary to Tamil Nadu Government, Information Technology Department.
