The Mo­tion Pic­ture As­so­ci­a­tion of Amer­ica (MPAA) is an Amer­i­can trade as­so­ci­a­tion rep­re­sent­ing the six ma­jor film stu­dios of Hol­ly­wood.

The MPAA has a com­pre­hen­sive global ap­proach to re­duc­ing piracy. They co-op­er­ate with govern­ments and law en­force­ment agen­cies to dis­rupt crim­i­nal op­er­a­tions be­hind large-scale piracy web­sites. MPAA also works with con­tent cre­ators on di­rect ac­tions. MPAA pro­vides con­tent pro­tec­tion ex­per­tise, re­search and coun­sel to ACE - Al­liance for Cre­ativ­ity and En­ter­tain­ment cre­ated in 2017 by 30 lead­ing global con­tent and en­ter­tain­ment com­pa­nies. The In­dian del­e­ga­tion raised the is­sue of piracy of In­dian con­tent – broad­cast, dig­i­tal and films. In­dian con­tent is also be­ing pi­rated in other coun­tries such as Aus­tralia, Canada, and Euro­pean Union (EU) mem­ber states via US-based servers and other web in­fra­struc­ture ser­vices lo­cated in the United States. FICCI shared that the mat­ter has been dis­cussed with USTR, the In­dia USPTO and rep­re­sen­ta­tions. The del­e­ga­tion called for sup­port from MPAA to work to­gether with In­dian or­gan­i­sa­tions in the global fight against piracy.
