With Ap­ple and Ama­zon en­ter­ing the tril­lion economies' club this year, In­dian com­pa­nies and In­dian states still seem to have a long way to go. Let us look at where some of the top In­dian com­pa­nies and states' GSDP (Gross State Do­mes­tic Prod­uct Stand).

Ap­ple, Ama­zon and top 3 In­dian Com­pa­nies on the For­tune Global 500 list, 2018

In the For­tune 500 list­ing, Ap­ple stood at the 11th po­si­tion with a rev­enue of $229,234 mil­lion and Ama­zon.com at 18 with $177,866 mil­lion. While with a 23 per cent rise in rev­enues to $65,916 mil­lion, In­dian Oil Corp (IOC) ranked 137th, up from its 168th po­si­tion in 2017. While Mukesh Am­bani-led RIL was the top pri­vate sec­tor com­pany from the coun­try as it jumped from 203rd rank last year to 148th. It had a rev­enue of $62.304 mil­lion in 2017-18. With $51.219 mil­lion rev­enue, Oil and Nat­u­ral Gas Cor­po­ra­tion (ONGC) made a come­back into the list with a rank­ing of 197th.

GSDP of 3 Pro­gres­sive In­dian States

Ma­ha­rash­tra's gross state do­mes­tic prod­uct (GSDP), the high­est among all states reached $ 387.36 bil­lion in 2017-18. Whereas, the GSDP of Tamil Nadu reached $ 193.55 bil­lion in 2016-17. Gu­jarat is one of the lead­ing in­dus­tri­alised states in In­dia and at cur­rent prices, its GSDP was about $ 172.63 bil­lion dur­ing 2016-17.
