Bank credit offtake, deposits pick up
Indian banks have witnessed marginal rise in credit offtake and deposits during the fortnight ended on September 1, according to RBI. The central bank released fortnightly data of all scheduled and commercial bank on Wednesday for the reporting Friday on September 1.
Bank credit offtake in the fortnight stood at Rs 77.70 trillion, up 0.83 per cent, against Rs 77.06 trillion in last fortnight. Credit offtake rose 6.5 per cent against Rs 72.97 trillion a year ago.
