TN gears up to woo global in­vestors

The Tamil Nadu gov­ern­ment has launched its in­vest­ment pro­mo­tion cam­paign for Global In­vestors Meet (GIM) 2019, to be held on Jan­uary 23-24, 2019, in Chen­nai. The road­show, led by MC Sam­path, min­is­ter of in­dus­tries, Tamil Nadu, is aimed at show­cas­ing the man­u­fac­tur­ing prow­ess and com­pet­i­tive strengths of the state and var­i­ous in­vest­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties to the in­vestors.

“TN is recog­nised glob­ally as a favoured in­vest­ment des­ti­na­tion with strong po­ten­tial for man­u­fac­tur­ing. It is one of the top states in at­tract­ing for­eign di­rect in­vest­ment. Over 3,000 for­eign com­pa­nies in­clud­ing joint ven­tures have in­vested in the state,” the min­is­ter said.

GIM 2019 will be fo­cussing on sec­tors like tex­tiles and ap­par­els, phar­ma­ceu­ti­cals and biotech, among oth­ers. There will be a sin­gle win­dow sys­tem to en­able in­vestors to get all approvals within 30 days.
