Thin and light de­sign

An Ul­tra­book has to be less than 2 cm in thick­ness, most are much thin­ner. (The Macbook Air is 1.7 cm thick.)


The units will have fea­tures like Iden­tify Pro­tec­tion tech to pro­vide a more se­cure on­line ex­pe­ri­ence and will use chiplevel au­then­ti­ca­tion, con­sid­ered more se­cure than soft­ware­only au­then­ti­ca­tion. In­tel is work­ing with au­then­ti­ca­tion part­ners to so­lu­tions for Ul­tra­books and work with the ecosys­tem—in­clud­ing on­line bank­ing, gam­ing, ecom­merce and so­cial me­dia sites. There will also be In­tel’s Anti-theft tech­nol­ogy which will dis­able the unit if it gets stolen.


They will need to be in a price range of $1,000.
