COMPACT PLEASURE

Gadgets and Gizmos (India) - - REVIEWS -

Ulnike the Nikon 1 V1, the cheaper J1 does not have an electronic view finder and it has a pop-up flash which the elder brother was missing. But the same differentiators might end up making this a more popular camera. For instance, you do not need to buy and carry along a speedlight if you own a J1. As with the V1, the Nikkor lenses are what will set the J1 apart from the rest of the mirrorless pack. Just try shooting a Full HD video at the 110mm end of the zoom lens and you will realise how fast the lens is and how sharp the images are.

Then there is Nikon’s unique motion snapshot technology which keeps clicking multiple images as long as you keep the shutter pressed and present the same like a time lapse video. However, these functions end up being data guzzlers and it is advised that you use at least an 8GB card with the Nikon 1 series cameras.
