Apropos “Channels as you like them” ( G&G, July 2012). By November, it will be compulsory to digitise cable TV in the metros. But still TRAI has not been able to regulate cable TV, including DTH, across the country. There should also be a cap on all available channels, including free-to-air ones and a single rate for all channels. There are more than two television sets in many households, and so additional charges must not be imposed on these sets. The total cost per month for three sets should be capped at

500. I wonder why all free-to-air ` channels are not telecast by DTH providers. The technology must improve so that transmission is not affected during rain.
