PORTRONICS PURE SOUND PRO AND OTHER REVIEWS
Your music needs are now invariably linked to your mobile phone or computer. This is why phone docks and sounds bars are becoming more popular than traditional music systems. A big advantage with these devices is their size and the multiplicity of connectivity options they offer.
The Portronics Pure Sound Pro is a battery powered portable soundbar that can play music from any of your mobile devices or PC. It also has an inbuilt FM turner and can play directly from an SD card or USB drive. It takes a while to recharge the battery, after which you can take it where you want – on the rooftop or for a picnic. The FM tuner is pretty good with a scanner and music quality that is MP3 quality. There is a button to change the mode to Aux or PC, both of which will need you to plug in the auxiliary cable that comes in the box. Though the company claims the USB cable is good for both power and transmission, it works only if the PC is not connected to another sound output. It is also sad that there is no Bluetooth on the device.
But the Pure Sound Pro has really good sound and can be loud if needed. We were quite happy playing it in the middles, with John Denver asking us to follow him. But if you want to shake a leg to a Bollywood number, then up the volume and enjoy the Turbo Bass that gives an edge to this device. Another feature that we enjoyed was that it played all FLAC/APE lossless files which we usually use to test hi-fi systems. The battery easily lasts for over seven hours in full volume.
