For in­stance, the Opera Mini browser can com­press a web­page by 90% be­fore open­ing it. UC Browser claims to re­duce data trans­fers by 60%. Also, try us­ing Google maps off­line as it can pre­cache maps. On an An­droid de­vice, you can set a data limit in the set­tings. An alert will ap­pear as you ap­proach the limit. On iOS, you can track mo­bile data con­sump­tion.
