Q I AM PLANNING TO BUY A MOTOROLA MOTO G BUT I HEARD THE UNITS BEING SHIPPED TO INDIA ARE FAULTY. COULD YOU PLEASE CONFIRM?

VIDYA, on email

GG In June, a shipment of Motorola Moto G had some issues. The IMEI number of the handsets in that particular shipment were not able to register on the cellular network. However, Motorola had fixed this problem. Just in case there is any issue, notify it to Flipkart and they are likely to replace the unit.

Q I HAVE NOTICED THAT FLIPKART IS SELLING iPHONE 5S FOR ` 42,000. SHALL I BUY IT NOW OR WAIT FOR iPHONE 6? MY BUDGET IS ` 50,000.

RIDHIMA, on email

GG Apple is likely to announce the launch of iPhone 6 in September and looking at the previous launches, the new handset will come to India around Diwali. It makes sense to wait for iPhone 6 to launch here as, firstly, you can consider buying it if you can extend your budget and secondly, the price of iPhone 5S might fall futher.

Q I AM PLANNING TO BUY A PERSONAL NAVIGATION DEVICE FOR MY CAR AS I OFTEN END UP GETTING LOST IN THE CITY AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY. IS IT A GOOD DECISION?

RISHABH KUMAR, on email

GG Instead of buying a personal navigation device, you can use Google Maps for free on your smartphone. It not only guides you to the destination but also shows realtime traffic in certain cities. Also, you have alternative routes to choose from.
