EESL be­comes world’s largest street light co.

Around 30 lakh led street lights, spread across 50,000 km of roads, have been in­stalled across the coun­try un­der the cen­tre’s street light­ing na­tional pro­gramme (slnp). With this, en­ergy Ef­fi­ciency Ser­vices Lim­ited (eesl), un­der the min­istry of power, has be­come the world’s largest street light man­age­ment com­pany.

This has helped the gov­ern­ment to save 39 crore kwh of an­nual en­ergy and led to re­duc­tion of 3.29 lakh tonnes of co2 an­nu­ally.

ra­jasthan has in­stalled 7.85 lakh led street lights fol­lowed by Andhra Pradesh and gu­jarat with 6.03 lakhs and 5.4 lakhs re­spec­tively.

EESL is retrofitting 15,000 con­ven­tional lights with led street lights every day. The com­pany is also im­ple­ment­ing a spe­cial her­itage light­ing project in Kashi re­gion of ut­tar Pradesh.
