Two ‘A’s – Aadhaar and Ay­o­d­hya – will be on top of the mind of supreme court judges in 2018. The fate of Aadhaar will be de­cided af­ter a five-judge con­sti­tu­tion bench will be­gin fi­nal hear­ings Jan­uary 17 on­wards. ear­lier, the apex court had said the dead­line for link­ing Aadhaar with many ser­vices, in­clud­ing mo­bile phones, would be March 31. The apex court will also re­open hear­ings in a set of cases re­lated to the dis­puted Ay­o­d­hya site on Fe­bru­ary 8. se­nior ad­vo­cate Kapil sibal, rep­re­sent­ing the Sunni waqf board, re­quested the court to give it “rea­son­able time” to file doc­u­ments. he had also asked the court to have hear­ings af­ter gen­eral elec­tions in 2019.
