GSL de­liv­ers fuel barge to In­dian navy

goa ship­yard Lim­ited (gsl) has de­liv­ered the sec­ond fuel barge to the in­dian navy on de­cem­ber 2 – 33 days ahead of con­trac­tual de­liv­ery sched­ule. it was re­cently in­ducted into the navy.

The navy needed self-pro­pelled 1,000-tonne fuel barges, with a view to fuel big ships like INS Vikra­ma­ditya. The first fuel barge was de­liv­ered on Au­gust 17. The fuel barge’s role is to re­plen­ish low-speed and high-speed diesel and avi­a­tion fuel.
