Vice president and rajya Sabha chairman m Venkaiah Naidu concluded the winter session of the house by thanking people for supporting the working of the house. He went on to specially thank the deputy chairman of rajya Sabha, PJ Kurien. Naidu called Kurien, a “great source of support”. In recent years, the rajya Sabha has witnessed most heated debates and discussions and has performed poor on pending bills, etc.
Just after Naidu’s remark, congress mp and former women and child development minister renuka chowdhary remarked that Kurien should be given a Padma award for this. Naidu replied that even a Padma will be “too small”.
