Using nail polish remover more than every two weeks can cause brittle nails. Preferably switch to one that doesn’t contain acetone. Always use a base and top coat while applying nail polish. The base coat ensures that colour doesn’t seep into the nail and stain it, while the top coat provides longevity to your mani-pedi.
Apart from external precautions, it is important your nails receive nourishment from within. Make sure you include iron-rich foods such as whole grains, liver, prunes, molasses, pumpkin seeds and leafy greens in your diet. Meat, cheese, beans and legumes provide zinc and are rich in protein, too.
