To achieve this look, the hair has been blow-dried curly, using a small round ceramic brush and styling mousse. It has then been curled with tongs to add definition and shape to each curl.
Build a small amount of volume at the crown by backcombing sections on top of the head. Section the hair into two, with a lower half and a top half. Use a clip to pin the top half out of the way. Starting with the lower half, sweep hair to one side, leaving a small section of fringe at the front with a side parting. Loosely pin the ends underneath at the base of the hairline. Release the top half of the hair and allow it to fall over the lower pinned section. Create the shape by pinning it onto and around the hair, tucking any lengths underneath as before. This is a modern take on a vintage style; it has a matte finish to bring it up to date, so finish with just hairspray.
