The inspirational diva

PRIYA CHAPHEKAR in conversation with TIGI’s international spokesperson and award-winning hairstylist Aislinn Trodden, who was in the country to ‘edu-tain’ Indian stylists.

Hair - - Editor's Letter -

Your journey in the hairdressing world has been…

...14 years of fantastic work and dedication! I began my journey with Toni&Guy and later went on to become a successful salon owner for a decade. After winning a few awards, TIGI approached me to be their Education Manager for Ireland. To be chosen to become TIGI All star by Nick Irwin, Global Creative Director, was a huge honour for me. It meant that I was now an extension of TIGI’s International Creative Team. I’ve travelled all around the world as a part of this inspiring organisation, taking part in shoots and shows as well as educational trainings.

TIGI, for you, is…

My religion! The brand is all about passion, fun, creativity, imagination, motivation and ‘edu-tainment’.

The best part about being an international hairstylist is…

Being able to work with and learn from various cultures. Interacting with more people makes me a diverse stylist and broadens my horizons.

Working with Indian stylists feels…

Great! They are passionate about their work and extremely hospitable.

The best part about them is…

They love education and strive hard to become better at their job.

They need to work on…

Time-keeping (laughs).

Indian hair is…

The most exotic hair for session and avant garde styling. And now that TIGI is here to spice things up, we’ll be witnessing more variety in lengths and textures.

A/W trends…

A/W trends will be controlled by minimalistic textures. From dark romantic looks to Hollywood glamour — everything sleek and elegant.
