Swimming is an enjoyable and effective way of staying fit. However, the pool water can make your hair dry and frizzy. Vipul Chudasama, Independent Hairstylist and Consultant, tells you how to protect your hair:

1. Immediately after a swim, wash your hair with a conditioning shampoo. If not, at least rinse it. Spray a leave-in conditioner. 2. Wet hair is prone to breakage; so untangle your hair with a wide-toothed comb. 3. Avoid using a hairdryer; let your hair dry naturally.

4. If you swim regularly, indulge in a deep conditioning or hot oil treatment at least once a week.

5. Wear a swimming cap whenever you enter the pool. This will not only protect your hair, but is also good for the hygiene of the pool.
