Fringe benefits

Hair - - Male Matters -

One of the key trends to look out for this year is the fringe. No, we’re not talking early-days Justin Bieber but instead an updated take on the already popular fade. Models at the Salvatore Ferragamo show during Milano Moda Uomo sported this look — shorter on the sides and the back and longer, heavier in front. Dion Padan, English hairstylist to the stars, in his article for the gent’s fashion website www.fashionbeans.com says that the fringe, worn combed across the forehead, is the perfect way to cover up a receding hairline. It works with little or no styling for a relaxed look, can be slicked to the side or — for those with the patience to style — blow-dried forward, using a small round brush.
