Blue lids did the talking at quite a few shows at the New York Fashion Week. At Marc by Marc Jacobs, models wore stunning statement lids in rich solid blue from lash line to crease. The crescent shape just above the crease was created with Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Ice and topped with a layer of Curacao from the Shiseido Eye Color Bar Compact. At Badgley Mischka, powdery blue shades were layered to create a ‘70s disco look. Estée Lauder, too, fashioned a variation in blue by adding a navy cube to the corners of the eyes, along with navy liner under the eye and mascara on the upper lashes, at the Derek Lam Spring 2014 show in New York City. Pristine white eye-shadow and liner was the next trend that caught our eye at the Jenny Packham, Tibi, Alice + Olivia and Altuzarra shows at the NFW. Models at Alice + Olivia sported dewy, fresh lids that had a wash of iridescent white and pink — courtesy Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer in Pink Shimmer and Eye-Shadow in Opal. At Tibi, white eyeliner and eye-shadow rimmed inner corners of eyes, and created a cool cat-eye look. Glittering gilded lids in solid metallic colours are the ticket to Hollywood glam. Last spotted at the Jason Wu show, this look was created by Lancôme makeup artists by first smudging Le Crayon Kohl in Black Coffee into creases. The top lashes were then lined with Jason Wu for Lancôme Artliner in Noir followed by a wash of brown eye-shadow and finished off with loose, gold glitter. MAC Pressed Pigment in Damson is a good choice if you’re looking to achieve this look with fewer products. Add your favourite kohl pencil and you’re set to glitter!
