Kim Robinson, celebrated hairstylist and Owner, kimrobinson chain of salons, says, “The textured chignon is a modern update on a classic style and a look that flatters a lot of different face shapes. The key to achieving this look is to create some natural-looking volume at the crown before pulling hair into a chignon. I use the kimrobinson Volumizing Mini Crimper at the roots to create volume, which helps to balance the face and make hair appear fuller. Another way to add texture is through plaits, which can be integrated subtly or used more prominently to really accent the look.” There are different ways to accessorise this ‘do. “I really love working with small, jewelled pins and styling them in an unexpected way, such as doubling them up. Hair bands are a great way to add some bling and can help create more texture and volume depending on how you place them,” says Kim.
