Here’s another thing we love about bronzers: they can be worn anywhere and at all hours. Use light and matte shades during the day for a natural baked look. Both Malhotra and Holmes recommend shimmering bronzers for evenings and special occasions. The key to getting the perfect bronzed look is to apply exactly the right amount. Too much bronzer and you will run the risk of looking sun-scorched rather than sun-kissed. Virginia suggests, “Firstly, don’t pick a very dark bronzer. Secondly, don’t apply it all over the face. Apply it to the high points of the face such as the tops of cheekbones, forehead and down the nose. Avoid using shimmery bronzers on the centre of the face as it highlights facial pores.” Bronzers make for quite a statement and must be finished with the right accompaniments. Hartkopf suggests, “For the daring ones, a deep matte lip colour with the bronzer is perfect for a night out in town or a special event. If you’re aiming at an everyday look, I would recommend a soft lip stain as enhancer. Berry undertones work marvellously for Indian skin.”
