Focused and full of energy, Ken is originally from Taiwan. A member of Sebastian Design Artist Team, he is well-known for working his magic on everything from runway models to editorials. He was invited to style the hair of the lead cast of Fuerza Bruta when they were in Taiwan. Ken has also won numerous awards in Taiwan namely Sebastian and Wella hair competitions from 2000-2005.

What got you into the world of hairdressing?

As a child, whenever I visited the salon, I was fascinated by the lifestyle. I started off as a freelancer for Wella Professionals. The desire to step up and become a more celebrated stylist is what fuelled me further.

What are the things that you want Indian stylists to learn?

These days, women love to wear their hair long. I want the Indian stylists to imbibe the unique techniques of inner layering, backcoming and finger combing so as to create texture and movement.

Tell us something about the look you created.

The look is an attention-grabbing contrast of elements.

S/S ’14 trends…

Contrast layers are totally in this season. If you have long hair, a short and medium fringe will make you look fresh and young. If you’re planning on colouring your hair, go for cool reds and warm browns. A tinge of violet will give you a softer look.

Fave products…

The protein-rich Whipped Crème for nourished locks, Thickefy Foam for body and Shaper Zero Gravity — a lightweight hairspray for a supple hold.
