DR. BHARTI TANEJA
Beauty expert and founder-director, ALPS Beauty Group “Diet plays a crucial role in making your skin look healthier and younger. I include oats, flaxseeds and chia seeds in my diet, along with lots of protein. Avoid fried food. Remember—don’t starve yourself, rather eat right!” Recommended routine: Stick to a regular cleansing-toning-moisturising (CTM) routine. Cleanse your face with a deep-pore, soap-free, non-foaming cleanser, followed by exfoliating to cleanse your pores of grime and dead cells. You can buy a good exfoliator from the market or simply make one yourself—mix equal quantities of kaolin powder, sandalwood powder and a few pinches of turmeric and poppy seeds. Dilute this mixture with curd (for oily skin) or milk (for dry skin) and massage it on to your face. Proceed to tone your face with a good toner to close your pores and moisturise with a gel or water-based moisturiser. Finally, use a good sunscreen of SPF 30+ with UVA, UVB filters and PA+++. Don’t forget to use a good make-up remover and night cream at the end of the day.
