Mantra: Protect and preserve
In your 20s, your skin is at its best. And you can retain that glow by starting to care for your skin and forming longlasting skincare habits. Begin with a mild cleanser; as Dr Arundathi, consultant dermatologist at Kaya Skin Clinic and Columbia Asia Hospital, Bengaluru suggests, “Use gentle soap-free cleansers for dry skin and salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide based cleansers for acne-prone, oily skin. If you’re acneprone, use oil-free, non-comedogenic, mineral-based cosmetics.” No matter how hard a day it has been, make sure to remove your make-up before hitting the sack. Make a light moisturiser and a good sunscreen a part of your daily skincare regimen. This is also a good time to get on a healthy diet—coloured fruits and veggies, sprouts, yogurt, pulses, etc. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
