Hot off the charts
Colour obsessions that are so ‘right now’
There’s no shying away from greys anymore! As more women are starting to embrace natural greys, there are also those who are choosing to colour their hair in this shade. This is an ombré that goes from dark grey roots to nearly silver tips. The rather unconventional style is striking as well
As the name suggests, this colour service brings together blonde and orange tones to create a unique look. Orange, by itself, can be a really stark colour to wear— we don’t usually spot it worn too often. Mixing it with blondes makes it not only wearable but also more fun. The shades used can easily be customised so as to
avoid a burnt, overly warm look.
Smokey violets, greens and ash greys are so hot this season. You may choose to either colour all your hair in these shades, work with gradients, or even just dye the ends. The look is achieved by strategically mixing multiple tones of deep colours with some grey and black bits, adding definition to the hair as you proceed. The result is
a pale and foggy finish.
The simplest way to explain this—a balayage with pastel shades. Conventionally, a balayage is created with warm brown and blonde shades, but this version uses cool pastel hues blended to perfection. Think candy floss pink, icy blues and mint greens blended together. The iridescent finish is nothing short of mesmerising!
CHOCOLATE ROSE GOLD
2016 was the year for rose gold—hair, accessories, outfits, we were obsessed with this tone—and this year it’s time to take a small detour from that by adding another all time favourite to it: chocolate! As if rose gold hair wasn’t pretty enough, stylists are now blending chocolate tones to it to make the look even more delicious. The only downside is the high upkeep this colour demands—it fades easy, so regular touch-ups are definitely needed.
This works especially well for dark-haired girls. Brown, gold, bronze and blonde stripes are added to the hair, blended seamlessly to give you a naturally gorgeous look. The finish is that of a sunkissed look that also goes to contour the face. It’s a low maintenance look—all you need is some colour protection shampoo and conditioner to take you through 4-5 months, post which you may need to refresh the colour.
