Masters of the trade

What should one expect when the cream of the hair and beauty industry come together under one roof? Sheer excellence, to say the least. The Mumbai edition of Hair Masters Luxury Salon gives you that, with four of the best names in the industry—Amanda Carvalho, Elton Steve Vessoaker, Asif Mohammed, and Vinati Behal—taking up roles as the salon’s Art Directors.

As soon as you step in, you’re sure to be pretty impressed by the sheer length and breadth of the space. If cramped up spaces aren’t your thing, then this place is more than a welcome respite. Hair Masters Luxury Salon offers a range of hair, skin, beauty, nails, and make-up services. Keeping the festive season in mind, I thought why not go in for a quick makeover. Let’s get a new hair colour!

And a ‘makeover’ it has been indeed. Asif Mohammed literally gave my rather drab brown locks a renewed bout of life and vigour. Using the balayage technique, my hair was treated with a global of Wella Koleston’s light brown and violet intense hues, with a few highlights of red. And, of course, the powerdose treatment was done to lock in the colour. I had always been a little apprehensive about getting a global colour, but after seeing how stunningly gorgeous my hair looks now, I’m pretty sure I’ll be going the same route the next time around again. Of course, if you’re getting such a sexy fashion colour, please be sure that it may bleed for the first few washes. So, please don’t fret, and please don’t use light-coloured towels to dry your hair. While getting my hair colour treatment, I couldn’t help but observe the utmost level of personal attention the Art Directors gave to each of the clients at the salon. Also what’s impressive is that while there are four Art Directors at the salon, neither of them seemed to be interfering in each other’s space and work.

As a client, the few things that I look forward to when I visit a salon are: a decent-enough space for me to sit and enjoy my treatment, a stylist or expert who is going to be able to answer all my queries and questions (and, trust me, there’s a rather long list of them!), and utmost hygiene. Hair Masters Luxury Salon pretty-much matched up to all of these parameters.
