WHY DON’T YOU...?

Following in the footsteps of Bazaar’s legendary editor Diana Vreeland, the Bengaluru-based fashion designer Sanchita Ajjampur shares her lifestyle tips for this month

-

...dive at dusk in the Andamans. The greatest secrets of life are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Look for them.

….stand up for a cause you believe in. Do it effectively with a genuine message, innovative delivery, and on a spectacular scale and reach. Seek inspiration from what Freida Pinto and other renowned actors are doing with the documentary film Girl Rising.

...let your children be your biggest inspiration. My beautiful girls (13 and 16), keep me young and always on my toes!

…find something new to try and rediscover something old to savour everyday, like pasta with shaved white truffles in season in Alba, Italy.

…explore Blitz, a store in Milan, for vintage posters, unique objects and collectibles, fashion clothing and accessories from yesteryears, and everything from kitsch to modern art, to give a trendy, vintage look to your home or office.

…wear clothing with a personal story. My favourite is a pink, cotton brocade moiré Egyptian kaftan, with rope embroidery, a gift from a dear family friend, Princess Nihal, King Farouk of Egypt’s niece.

...make a pet an integral part of your life. Tashi, our ashblond Tibetan Lhasa apso, and Rangoon, our gorgeous ivory birman cat from Yangon, live in mutual awe and admiration, and teach me to love unconditionally.

…. indulge your mythical, fantastic side by dressing in ensembles with bejewelled dragonflies and bugs from my new collection.
