Kom­bucha, the new co­conut water

Car­ry­ing on the trend of fer­mented foods like kim­chi is ‘kom­bucha’. Hailed as the suc­ces­sor to co­conut water, this is a fer­mented sweet tea that is made by adding bac­te­ria and yeast, which is then al­lowed to fer­ment for a few weeks. While stud­ies talk of its side ef­fects, kom­bucha is said to clean the gut, boost the im­mune sys­tem and aid sleep. Hol­ly­wood A-lis­ters Amanda Seyfried, Halle Berry and Lind­say Lo­han are re­port­edly fans of it.
