Well bro­ken-in old pair of loafers may also be do­ing you more harm than you think. Some­times we stick with the same shoes longer than we should. Check your footwear: A dead give­away is un­evenly worn heels. If the bot­tom of the heel is at an an­gle to the bot­tom of your foot, get new shoes. Avoid flat-bot­tomed shoes: Plan­tar fasci­itis may flare up when peo­ple walk around in footwear that of­fers no arch sup­port, like san­dals and boat shoes, or walk bare­foot. Use sup­port in­soles: Wear shoes with re­mov­able in­soles. Th­ese are not merely cush­ions; they have a raised area that phys­i­cally sup­ports the arch.
