Buy only low-fat dairy products. Eat egg yolks in moderation. Cut servings of poultry and red meat to a portion no larger than a deck of cards. Trim fat from meat before cooking. Do not eat poultry skin. Replace meat with a cold-water fish, such as salmon or tuna, three days a week. Replace meat with a vegetarian option, preferably one with beans or legumes, one or two days a week. Eliminate processed lunchmeats and eat salads with fresh chicken or shrimp instead. Avoid cream-based soups, but enjoy broth-based soups.
