Emergency-era victims to get medical reimbursement: Vij

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana government has decided that all those who “suffered” during the Emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi-led Congress government in 1975 and their spouses will get the facility of reimbursement of their medical claims on the pattern of employees of the state government.

Health minister Anil Vij said on Friday that all such “sufferers” and their spouses would be identified in the state and deputy commissioners (DCs) concerned would issue them photo-identity cards to avail the facility. The DCs would designate an agency which would receive the medical claims from eligible beneficiaries and get them reimbursed.
