BHANDARKAR NEEDS SUPPORT
Congress’ vice-president Rahul Gandhi had visited JNU campus to support those students who raised anti-national slogans in the name of freedom of speech. Workers of the same Congress party are now threatening filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar for his movie Indu Sarkar, based on the 21-month Emergency imposed by then PM Indira Gandhi. What happened to their slogan for freedom of expression? I also wonder where those so-called intellectuals who returned their state/national awards in the name of ‘growing intolerance in the country’ are hiding now. Why don’t they come out and support Bhandarkar openly? AK Agarwal, Zirakpur
