Kal Airways row: SpiceJet moves SC against HC order

NEWDELHI: The fight between Ajay Singh-controlled SpiceJet Ltd and Kalanithi Maran, a former promoter of the airline, has escalated with the budget airline challenging a Delhi High Court order asking it to deposit about ₹529 crore in a share transfer dispute. SpiceJet has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court against Maran-promoted Kal Airways, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing documents published on the apex court’s website. Spokespersons for SpiceJet and Kal Airways declined to comment.
