SAD alleges repression of Akali councillors
CHANDIGARH: The SAD said it will start an agitation if the state fails to curb atrocities against women and stopped registration of false cases against Akali councillors. Former minister Daljit Singh Cheema and Dera Bassi MLA NK Sharma said party had brought 16 cases of repression before the authorities. “This government is unmoved by the plight of women,” he alleged. Cheema said it was four days since the party complained about the barbarity inflicted upon a fellow woman and her daughter-in-law in Zirakpur. No action has been taken in the matter.
