Bomb hoax at Delhi high court

-

NEW DELHI: A phone call about a bomb being planted at the Delhi High Court premises on Thursday morning sent security agencies in a tizzy.

A thorough search over the next few hours and initial investigations later, the police determined the call to bea hoax.

The number from which the call was made to the police control room at 10.54am was registered in the name of one Deepak, a resident of Baghpat in eastern Utt ar Pradesh. But his phone call location showed that the call was made from east Delhi’ s Ta hirp ur.

The Delhi Police coordinated with their counterparts in Baghpat and conducted a search at Deepak’s house, where the man was found to be absconding. His familyclaimed that Deepak was an alcoholic and had randomly left home a few weeks ago. Sources suspect that the bomb threat may have been made by Deepak in an inebriated state. HTC
