THREE BOOKED FOR RAPING GIRL IN SANGRUR VILLAGE
SANGRUR: Police have booked three men for the gangrape of a Dalit 16-year-old in a Sangrur village on Friday.
The girl has been admitted to Sangrur civil hospital with the three accused — Kalu, Seeti and Kuldeep Singh absconding.
Sangrur Sadar station house officer Ranjit Singh said one of the accused, Kalu, went to the girl’s home and called him to his house. At Kalu’s house, Kuldeep raped her, the police claim, adding that no arrests had been made yet in the case.
“A case has been registered under Sections 376D (gangrape) of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of her statement. Investigation is on,” the station house officer added, claiming that the accused would be arrested soon.
He added that they certain leads that could be followed.
