We live in society, and so it stands to reason that we are constantly surrounded by people. Being social animals, we expect to be respected by others.

But sometimes, we may feel as though we do not get as much respect as we deserve. This could lead us to begin showing off our wealth or status in order to draw the attention of others, thus making ourselves victims to arrogance.

To maintain a social status, what we need is self-esteem and not ego. Being an egoist will not only end up spoiling our personality, but also play with our precious relationships.

It is entirely another thing that the reverse may also happens sometimes, when people bring out the worst in us. But we can ward them off just by showing our dignity.

There’s a difference between arrogance and self-respect, and it is important to understand that.

It is important to remember that above all, there is always a divine power to inflict punishment on us for belittling others.

In conclusion, if we realise that we were at fault and make efforts to revive our relationships, we might get back those significant things that we may have lost.

As they say, ‘pride comes before a fall’
