Pak shelling leaves 4 injured, 6 cattle dead in J&K

JAMMU: At least four people were injured, while half a dozen houses suffered minor to extensive damage as Pakistan Rangers opened heavy fire and shot mortars in Arnia, RS Pura and Ramgarh sub-sectors of Jam mu and Samba districts late Thursday night.

Six cattle have also died in the firing. BSF responded in equal measure and the exchanges lasted till 12.30 am on the intervenin­g night of Thursday and Friday. Following the firing, around 750 village rs were shifted to relief camps.

The injured have been identified as Parveen Kumar of Jabowal, Sohan Singh of Shekhuchak, Roma Devi of Suchetgarh and Kasturi Lal of Arnia.

In Samba district, Pak Rangers opened fire and shelled Indian forward posts and villages in Ramgarh sub-sector. “Samba administra­tion shifted nearly 500 villagers to Than di K hui Ash ram, Chichi Mata Temple and Radha Swami Ashram in Ramgarh,” said an official. HTC
