Sikh clergy meeting at Akal Takht today

AMRITSAR: Even as Master Johar Singh, president of managing committee of Gurdwara Chhota Ghallughara in Gurdspur , appeared before parallel jathedars designated at Sarbat Khalsa, Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh is firm to meet the jathedar so fall Takhtson Friday.

Notably, Akal Takhthad summoned Master Johar Singh on October 13 to clarify his stance over the controversy that was triggered after managing committee secretary Buta Singh, was caught in compromising position with a woman.

The issue is one of the major topics which is on meeting’s agenda. Earlier, Akal Takht jathedar had also summoned former CM and Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and Arjun Singh Badal ( Manpreet Badal’s son) for not appearing before Takhtto apologise for visiting the Sirsadera, ahead of the assembly elections early this year.

Although, the Takht did not ask them to appear at a particular time, but had asked to do so as early as possible otherwise face stern action. If both don’t appear, the highest temporal seat may also take action in this regard.

Akal Takhthad on April 17 had also awarded ‘tankhah’ to 39 political leaders after finding them guilty of violating its May 2007 ‘hukamnama’ to boycott dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh over his alleged impersonation of Guru Gobind Singh.
