Gangster, aide held; weapons recovered

AMRITSAR: The local police arrested a gangster Rajat Malhotra alias Karan Masti along with his accomplice Nikhil Takhi on Thursday. The police recovered two pistols including a country-made weapon, four live cartridges and a stolen bike from Malhotra and Takhi. Both are the residents of Majith Mandi, Amritsar.

Masti, a history-sheeter was earlier booked for murder, bank robbery, dacoity, snatching incidents and carjackings in the cities of Punjab and Haryana. DCP Jagmohan Singh said that the accused were nabbed following a tip off. Police said that the accused were arrested during the checking near Sultwind bypass.The accused were riding the stolen bike. The duo were sent to two days police remand.
