CM suspends dist mining officer on complaint

NARNAUL: On a complaint concerning illegal mining, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday suspended the district mining officer of Mahenderga­rh, an official statement said. He also ordered the suspension of a bus conductor following a complaint of eve-teasing, it read. Addressing the grievances of people at a “Janta Darbar” held here, Khattar said the state government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy on corruption. He directed officers of the public health engineerin­g department to lodge FIRs against those drawing water illegally from government pipelines, the release said. Khattar said line losses of power corporatio­ns had been brought down to 24% from 30% after the formation of the BJP government.
