This refers to the pictures of film stars taking up the sanitary napkin challenge and posting it on social networking platforms.

This awakening has not come all of a sudden; we owe it to Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie ‘Pad Man’. The real reason is to publicise the movie. Akshay, it may be recalled, did not utter a word when GST was levied on sanitary pads. He also chose to keep mum when people criticised the government for leaving out this item during the GST revision meeting. Our stars tend to associate with humanitari­an campaigns only for publicity.
