LUDHIANA : Former Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) chief minister Farooq Abdullah condemned the terror attack at the Sunjuwan army camp and criticised Pakistan for continued infiltration.

“Pakistan is living in a fool’s paradise, thinking that it could ever capture Kashmir. Pakistan should better think of itself and its future rather than keeping an eye on Kashmir,” Abdullah told reporters at a golf club near Ludhiana.

“Pakistan will have to stop sending militants to Jammu and Kashmir. I have seen such terror attacks throughout my life and this bodes good for no one,” he said during an event in Ludhiana.

When asked if war was the only option to establish peace after incidents such as Sunjuwan attack on Saturday, Abdullah responded with folded hands, urging both India and Pakistan to strive for peace. “The countries, otherwise, will face devastation like Syria, Afghanistan and Yemen,” he said.

The National Conference chief emphatically said “Kashmir was, is, and will remain an integral part of India.”

Meanwhile, Farooq Abdullah also responded to National Conference legislator Mohammad Akbar Lone’s act of raising pro-Pakistan slogans in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Saturday.

“Fools could be found in every party. God knows what he had consumed on that day. But we cannot shoot him now,” he said.

To a question, Abdullah expressed grave concern over the unabated rise in the prices of petroleum products.

Meanwhile, the NC president called upon the Union government to promote golf.
